RE: How structural are the plywood panels in cabinets?
Had to remove a small cabinet in my toy hauler. It was thin luan plywood stapled and glued together. Very small framing.
The cabinets hanging from the walls are the same thing with some type of faux wood doors.
They put enough glue on them that they would split and break trying to get them apart. No way could I have put a panel back on if I needed to. This is on a Forest River work n play trailer.

RE: 1981 Terry Taurus by Fleetwood blueprints
My experience with wiring diagrams even on very high end units is they are vague and change without being updated.
My best results have been removing the drawers on cabinets and seeing the wires running along the floors to different appliances and lighting.
Ceiling wiring can be tough but once I had to remove the AC and found some wiring that helped my situation.
Any specific issue that you are dealing with?

RE: '03 4 Winds 5000 21RB Chevy chassis 79k mi. what's it worth?
There is no such thing as a minor roof leak. What is the manufacturer built date on the tires.
Be prepared to reply to the above from any serious shopper.
Roof leaks don't get to be called minor or major in my opinion. If it leaked, game over for me. The market is flooded (pun) right now with used units. Loans % are ridiculous.

RE: Vinyl Carefree awning stains
I had stains on the inside of a fiberglass shell once that resisted any cleaner I could find. I finally removed the stains with Murphy"s oil soap. Read up and see what they suggest.

RE: Leveling Scissor Jacks
" suppose you could define Stabilizing as taking SOME of the load off the tires/leaf springs such that movement inside the RV is reduced when someone is walking around or when the wind is blowing (aka: Makes things more stable inside). Whereas Leveling could involve taking ALL the load off the tires/leaf springs with the primary goal of making the RV LEVEL inside (and secondarily making it also more stable since the load will be off the tires/leaf springs). When Leveling in this manner, it is possible that some of the tires could be literally off the ground and the weight on that side/corner will be supported wholly by the leveling jack."
^^^^^^
To get the wheels off the ground with these jacks what do you use as a crank. My cordless impact, lifting my trailer, bottoms out before the wheels even think about lifting off the ground. The hand crank is basically used once there is no weight on the jacks.
I can't imagine one of these would lift a class c off the ground. Stabilize against side by side movement, yes. But if these are not on the frame of the coach you are asking for issues in my opinion.
Think about it. If someone was going to change a tire and put the jack on the corner of your coach to lift it, what would you think would happen.

Red light on > Atwood water heater
dual water heater, gas/electric. Noticed the red light on the switch has been coming on. Been running generator as I dry camp at the race track long enough to cool the inside or micro something. The electric switch has been off. I turned the gas switch off this morning as the light was on and when I switched it back on I heard the heater fire up.
Plenty of hot water.

RE: 2020 Lance TT front window condensation
From my experience in homeowner type windows, Milgard to be specific, once the window develops condensation or otherwise the window needs replacement.(they warranty them)
There is a hole somewhere and moisture has gotten inside. Me. I would look for the hole and see if I could rig up something to draw the moisture out then re seal the hole. Create a vacuum in there, i guess. But that's me.
I have no idea if that would work. I do know RV windows are "hugely" expensive.

RE: Steering problem...looking for ideas/causes
I upgraded my 09 Cambria 30Ft to Bilstein shocks and it eliminated a lot of that side sway. Also when going over train tracks no more rattling of the dishes. The coach came with upgraded sway bars, the shocks made the difference. That barrel rolling around mild corners....gone.

Or buy the Walmart Brand for $9 to $12 for 2 1/2 Gal. Been using it since 2005 in three different trucks and no issues.

RE: Drain the bowl save the Honda
Run the unit out of fuel after turning the fuel off. I have little success with sta bil. If you have a poor running small engine there is a product sold at the big orange store called "mechanic in a bottle". It will de gum your carb and smooth out those rough idles.
Star Brite makes Star Tron. It is an enzyme based product. I have had good results and tossed all the stabil in the trash.

RE: 24 feet versus 26' dilemma, have to decide fast
Something to think about if you own a generator.
"After a prolonged period of running without load, the engine will start to incompletely combust the fuel due to a lack of running hot enough and burning off the unburnt hydrocarbons.
To correct this situation, the generator should be run at nearly full load to warm up and burn off all the built-up soot buildup and unburnt fuel.
Running the generator at a high load for several hours will ensure that the combustion process in the engine is optimal and will extend the durability of the engine."
I always added a fuel additive to the MH and was sure to exercise the generator on a regular basis. On portable generators, I have 3, I always turn the fuel off while the engine is running and let them run out of fuel. No sticky carburetors that way.
The old school fuel additives do not work as well as some of the new ones marketed today.

RE: Lance travel trailer slide out stops half way
Class c bedroom slide did the same thing. The slides were dirty and the strain on the motor shut off the motor on the internal protector.
I would have to pull off the mattress and undo the plywood platform.
Cleaned and lubed the slides and it worked well. I used a dry lube.
Anything oily will only attract more dirt. I found an access hole for wiring was not sealed properly, it allowed dust to come in. As We desert camp and dirt roads are common it was a problem.
The salesman said the slides were maintenance free, :h with a straight face?

RE: Ca emission control starting 2024
Find a friend in Lake Havasu. Idaho you can register under a LLC and keep in Ca. for as many days as you want.
When they smog my Duramax they plug it into the computer and check underneath for all the original exhaust parts. One time a man inside revved it up while another watched the exhaust.
That seemed so sophisticated and thorough.:@
BIL had what is called the Motorsports exemption for awhile.

RE: TT Wear on one tire..only took few short trips
Jack it up and see if the wheel bearing is loose. Any recent servicing of the axles, new brakes or whatever? Look underneath and check if maybe the spring centering bolt broke. Do both sides look the same?
rub or strike a curb recently? Measure from a stationary point underneath to the center of the hub on each side. Same?
Measure center to center on each hub. Are the axles spaced the same?

RE: Help 2011 Itasca Cambria 30C
My 09 Cambria had some fuses in the storage area closest to the door on the outside of the coach. . There was a carpeted panel that was removable and they were behind there. Can't remember what they serviced.
Also there was a GFI at the sink area that was part of the inverter hook up. It tripped a few times and caused some interesting loss of power in the coach.
I have had issues that were power related and to find wiring that did not make any sense why this was connected to that was not uncommon.
Remove that panel and trace some wires. i was second owner and original owner added a switch eliminating that panel to start the generator. You may have power but the panel is toast.

We had ants coming into our home, invading the kitchen and upstairs. I used some Terro liquid bait traps and they are gone and have not returned. I place them outside as well when they come near the foundation.

RE: Time to Part with Loved Travel Trailer
What is the consignment dealer going to get in fees and are you ok with that. I get low ballers and scammers just trying to sell some items on Offer up. Goes with the territory.
How about a family member. I sold cars for family and did quite well.
